Business Analyst

• 12 month fixed term contract role
• Open to Brisbane or Sydney locations, with WFH flexibility

This Opportunity

As part of the People Team, our mission is to make trusted People data accessible, to unlock and provide a deeper insight into what drives better team experience and advocacy, choosing Woolworths as a good place to work. We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our People Team.

Working with multiple stakeholders across the Woolworths Group you will:

• Develop detailed requirements documents for data onboarding and modelling by analysing and unravelling existing or required data assets, as they relate to our Voice of Team programme
• Develop specification documents, working with technical team members to advise data model designs which allow complex data ing and analysis whilst ensuring data confidentiality
• Maintain and update functional, technical and user documentation associated with our Voice of Team programme and relevant data sources
• Support and coordinate with technical team members to ensure all unit testing, user acceptance testing and production verification testing plans and results are as expected and documented and agree defect resolution processes
• Create and enhance dimensional models based on business requirements ( not mandatory)
• Support the business to identify the root cause of data issues and work with the relevant teams to resolve/address; build new data requirements for Voice of Team based on upstream changes
• Be responsible for breaking down priorities into tasks for each sprint and continually ‘groom’ the backlog to ensure the tasks are detailed, accurate and current based on business & stakeholder requirements
• Support the prioritisation and coordination of squad activities through discussion with intersecting squads
• Anticipate issues that may impact delivery and work with others to mitigate the risk
• Communicate potential/actual issues and delays to Product Owners and Program Leads
• Follow the policies and guidelines to govern the collection, storage, and usage of data

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree within a field of data, information technology, statistics or similar
• Previous experience with Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Tableau etc
• Previous experience working in an Agile environment utilising Jira and managing/maintaining the backlog and sprints.
• SQL skills
• Previous experience in data ing and visualisation through dashboards
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong understanding of HR and payroll systems is a bonus
• Results oriented and ability to work within tight timeframes
• Experience in confidently troubleshooting complex issues
• An enquiring and questioning mindset
• Attention to detail
