About the Role:

The Finance Analyst will join the Financial Planning & Performance (Business Planning & Analytics) who are responsible for delivering the annual Corporate Plan and periodic Forecasts for ELT and Woodside Board. The team also provide financial statement analysis for the Corporation to support major investment decisions, portfolio scenario analysis, treasury funding scenarios and external market guidance. You will join our team based from our Perth campus which includes facilities such as on-site cafeteria, subsidised gym and pool, multi-faith prayer rooms, ‘chill out’ zones, and amazing views over the city and Swan river.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The role exists in a small team of finance professionals that prepare and co-ordinate financial planning activities (Budget, Forecasts and scenario sensitivities) for the Corporation, with a focus on the long term horizon (10 year plan).
  • The team works closely with Woodside Finance Business Partners, Group Financial Control, Investor Relations & Treasury teams, Strategy, Decision Analysis & Evaluation (i.e., Commercial) as well as Senior Executives.
  • There will also be regular interaction with our Houston colleagues where a team of finance professionals support the modelling for a number of our global assets.
  • You will need to build effective working relationships with these stakeholders, and work collaboratively with Business Planning Systems and teams to support a range of analysis products across all time horizons.
  • The role will be important in supporting a refresh of business planning processes and systems for the newly merged organisation, including building maturity in global performance reporting.

Skills & Experience:

What we can are looking for in you:

  • A degree qualified in Accounting or Finance, and hold CA/CPA status.
  • Previous experience as a financial accountant with an aptitude for financial analysis and managing complex accounting.
  • Exposure to management accounting and reporting is important.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as role involves regular exposure to senior executives.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is essential, and experience with Anaplan and/or Oracle Cloud Forecasting software (PBCS) will be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of commercial valuation models will also be looked on favourably.
