Director of Education Job Duties

The Director of Education works with the ownership team to ensure that Keystone STAR 4 and NAEYC regulations are met and or exceeded on a consistent basis. Below is a list of duties to ensure that the values and goals of the Woodlyn Academy organization are met.

• Assist with achieving and maintaining STAR 4 and NAEYC Accreditation
• Work with staff to implement weekly lesson plans
• Assist staff with developing strategies to differentiate instruction based on the needs of students
• Ensure staff are making meaningful observations, using observations for assessments, and evaluations

Train and onboard new staff

• Complete educational component of new staff orientations
• Lead parent / teacher quarterly conference, ensuring proper assessments and evaluations are completed
• Be a liaison between families and early intervention
• Complete in-class Teacher observations monthly, developing action plans for improvement, meeting with staff to review action plan within one week of observation.
• Ensure all classroom room design and educational equipment are age appropriate and meet STAR 4 guidelines
• Create inventory and submit purchase requests as needed
• Complete classroom ERS twice per year
• Ensure Teaching staff are taking meaningful trainings which correlate directly with classroom observations and action plans
• Ensure all documents for STAR advancement are maintained and submitted as necessary
• Assist Teaching staff with continued education including the completion and submittal of TEACH/

RISING STARS application

• Ensure staff receive weekly planning/ prep time
• Facilitate employee disciplinary procedures
• Attend unemployment hearings as necessary
• Work to develop staff into high quality educators
• Establish and facilitate parent committee, ensure a minimum of four events per year.
• Work directly with Montessori coach to ensure teachers are adhering to the Montessori Curriculum as outlined
• Work with the Compliance Director to ensure program meets both STARS and DHS regulations
• Ensure daily / weekly reports and completed, individualized, and intentional
• Complete weekly checks on classroom documentation
• Work with enrollment specialist to ensure proper on boarding of new and perspective families occurs within specified timeframes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
