We currently have a vacancy within our Finance Team as the Senior Accounts Payable Officer. As the Senior Accounts Payable Officer, your day may consist of, but not limited to the following:

• Process creditors’ invoices in a timely and accurate manner, including complying & reviewing payment documentation and producing payment runs.
• Maintain Council’s list of suppliers and ensure information is current, complete and valid.
• Monitor invoice payments for compliance with GST requirements.
• Assist customers (internal and external) with creditor enquiries.
• Reconcile Accounts Payable General Ledger accounts.
• Coordinate and process Council’s corporate credit cards and Direct Debit transactions.
• Maintain Authority AP tasks in accordance with Audit requirements.
• Prepare and maintain AP process and procedure documentation.
• Work with the IT helpdesk to resolve issues encountered within the Authority AP Module.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

• Certificate III in Accounting or similar and/or extensive experience working in an accounts payable environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to use, Corporate Information Systems and other computer applications to meet business needs.
• Demonstrated understanding of the relationships between various Council departments and the accounts payable function.
