Working as a presenter with WizeUp Financial Education
Job title: Presenter – The successful applicant will be self employed and
contracted by the charity. They will also classify as a volunteer on the
charity register.
Role: The role will be to deliver workshops and seminars on a variety of financial
education and employability topics into schools on an ad-hoc
basis. Students will be from year 8 upwards but more likely to be post 16.
The workshops need to be engaging and presented to a high standard.
The successful applicant have excellent communication skills and will be
enthusiastic, self motivated and progressive and will be expected to liaise
with teaching staff before, during and after their presentation.
Experience: Presenting, some knowledge of personal finance. working with young
people.
Areas covered: London and surrounding areas.
Hours: There are no set hours, but workshops could last a whole school day or
just one hour. This will be known as and when each appointment is
offered. The successful applicant would need to be at school at least 30
minutes before the start of the presentation.
Equipment: Own laptop.
Training: All training will be arranged and delivered by the charity either in person or
via zoom. There will be a period of shadowing existing presenters and
then a 5 presentation probationary period.
Materials: All materials will be supplied by the charity.
Appointments: Appointments will be found by the charity.
Remuneration: Between £30-50 per hour depending on experience. The successful
applicant will be expected to invoice the charity on a monthly basis.
Expenses: Travel costs will be paid at a rate of 45p per mile if your own car is used or
cost of public transport will be refunded. Cost of meals will be reimbursed.
