William Angliss Institute Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Melbourne Full Time

William Angliss Institute is the Government endorsed specialist training provider for the foods, tourism, hospitality and events industries and is recognised as Australia’s leading provider of training for these key industry sectors. The Institute aims to provide excellent education and training services for industry, students and government in Victoria, Australia and internationally.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the Finance Team on an ongoing full-time (38 hours per week) basis. Commencing salary for this role will range between $64,014 – $69,506 per annum plus superannuation.

About the Role:

You will be primarily responsible for assisting and supporting the Financial Controller to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and, month end and year end reporting.

You will also be responsible for:

• Provide assistance and support to the Financial Controller and wider Finance Team with delivering high quality accounting services that support the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable financial information.
• Provide assistance in ensuring continual improvement and compliance of financial business processes, policies and procedures within the Institute.
• Provide accounting services and assistance to other business units and assist the Financial Controller with projects as required.

About You:

To be successful in this position you will have:

• Relevant Degree with relevant work experience; or a suitable combination of lesser qualifications and significant relevant experience.
• Experience in a similar role in a finance or accounting environment or similar organisation and/or sector.
• Knowledge of accounting standards, processes, principles and systems.
• Excellent computer skills including intermediate excel skills and experience using financial systems; Technology One Financials experience considered favourably.
