Wilkes University Hiring for College Level English Instructor, Upward Bound at Wilkes-Barre, PA Full Time

Wilkes University invites applicants for an open College Level English teaching position in the Upward Bound program. Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program, which provides support to high school students in career exploration and their preparation for college; ultimately, in their higher education pursuits.

The successful candidate is responsible for implementing the academic component of the program by introducing a small group of high school students to various college level literature and holding student-centered discussions in the English subject/focus. A Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field is required.

Dates run through our spring semester from February 1st through April 18th. Classes are held on Thursday nights from 6:30 PM – 8:20 PM. The candidate will be responsible for a single, one hour period class. This is a part-time, temporary position with a competitive hourly rate.
