Wilderness North Hiring for Lodge Maintenance Worker Full Time

Wilderness North is an adventure tourism operator based in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Through our fly-in properties along the Albany and Ogoki River watersheds we offer a variety of exceptional outdoor-centered guest experiences, from traditional fishing trips to adventure tourism. We cater to many different types of guests, all looking for a relaxing stay in the wilderness. We are seeking positive, outgoing, and motivated individuals to serve on our maintenance team.

Experience in construction techniques, electrical, heating, plumbing, and small engine repair is required. Knowledge of water and propane systems and chainsaw operation is an asset. Duties include general camp cleaning, basic landscaping, preparing firewood, painting, carpentry repairs, and small engine maintenance. Candidates should maintain a positive attitude under pressure and exhibit a strong work ethic. The position requires initiative, creativity, flexibility, willingness to take on multiple tasks, and the ability to cheerfully deal with the unexpected. Candidates must be able to think on their feet and are expected to creatively problem-solve and adapt to changing conditions. A valid First Aid certificate and proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Positions run through September. Candidates must be able to live and work in a wilderness environment as part of a close-knit team. Competitive starting salaries are based on experience and are in addition to room & board.
