Wickes are a leading multichannel retailer and we are looking for a Recruiter to join our established team as a fixed term contract for 12 months. This is a genuine opportunity to develop into a career in recruitment, you will be responsible for supporting the end to end recruitment life cycle of a variety of crucial roles across the Wickes business.
Activities in the role will be varied, and you will work alongside the existing team of recruiters on a broad scope of roles from early careers opportunities, retail roles and functional head office recruitment too. This role supports the end to end hiring process from advertising roles, screening candidates and scheduling interviews ensuring our candidates have an exceptional experience and that we are acquiring the best talent in the market.
Ideally you will have some experience of recruitment (either an agency or in-house) or some relevant customer focused industry experience. Perhaps, most importantly, you will be passionate about people and have an enthusiasm for recruitment which will help support our recruitment processes ensuring we source and attract the best talent. Good communication skills are essential as you will be working not only with candidates everyday but with the team, wider HR team and hiring managers.
We have recently re-opened our Support Centre in Watford, where our support functions teams are based. We recognise the value of bringing our teams together to collaborate, support each other and build on our amazing culture. We are also encouraging our teams to work flexibly, with a blend of remote / office working.
Key Accountabilities:
Creating an industry leading candidate journey, writing engaging adverts, direct sourcing via a variety of methods
Initial assessment of candidates through CV and Telephone screening them prior to candidates meeting our hiring managers and providing feedback in a positive and timely manner
Working to an agreed set of KPIs including but not limited to candidate generation, conversion, time to hire and direct hires
Utilising our in house ATS to build a strong candidate database for talent pooling – becoming an expert on the system to use to full potential, ensuring a high level of accuracy
Adhering to ‘best practise’ and ensuring all relevant administration is accurate and up to date
Promoting Wickes’ reputation as “a great place to work” and displaying Wickes Winning behaviours at all times
About you
Ideally you will have some experience of recruitment (either an agency or in-house) or some relevant customer focused industry experience.
Ability to work at pace, multitask and prioritise workload alongside good time management
Strong numeracy and administration skills – Knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, Word or Google equivalents essential
Attention to detail with a right first-time attitude
Great communication skills whether face to face, telephone or email
Collaborative team working and relationship building
Positive attitude, motivated and enthusiastic with an entrepreneurial attitude & way of thinking
Works well under pressure and to tight deadlines
