As Project Manager, your role will be enabling Whole Education’s projects and programmes to run successfully and effectively. You will work with colleagues across the organisation and our network to develop new and existing projects that work towards achieving our mission of a fully-rounded education for all young people. You will have responsibility for a number of projects across the organisation which will require day-to-day management, relationship holding as well as taking a long term strategic view to the projects’ delivery and development.
Education/schools experience is desirable, but not essential.
Key responsibilities
We are looking to hire a number of people to our project team with a range of experiences. Below are the sorts of responsibilities and tasks that take place in the project team:
Project management/ delivery
Developing and maintaining project plans for a range of projects of different sizes you have responsibility for
Ensuring projects are delivered in a timely manner, managing risks and escalating any issues where necessary
Maintain project budgets, working with finance and operations colleagues
Develop project tracking documentation and ensure it is kept up to date
Be responsible for ongoing project evaluation, ensuring our work is impactful
Work with the school network team to ensure the project management and network management areas of our work align
Develop project case studies
Produce written material for projects (including recruitment materials, project resources etc)
Project development
Work with colleagues to scope out new potential projects or scaling/ developing of existing projects
Take responsibility for regularly reviewing project delivery, responding to new opportunities and challenges
Work with colleagues to ensure projects are contributing to the wider mission of Whole Education
Work alongside the Project Team to share learning on most effective ways to manage and deliver projects
School Engagement (Schools focussed role)
We work with a range of innovative schools and trusts across the country. One of the Project Manager roles will involve working closely with our Primary and Secondary Directors to help our schools in their journey to deliver a high quality ‘whole education’ including:
Visiting some of our schools with good and innovative practice to help bring their great practice and impact to life
Developing relationships with key leaders in our schools to help them engage with Whole Education’s offer
Relationship management
Build relationships with key project participants (normally school leaders/ teachers) and ensure they are fully accessing and engaging with the projects you are responsible for
Build relationships with other stakeholders across the education sector relevant to the project (e.g. local authorities, funders, consultants, education providers)
Produce and manage partnership agreements/ contracts for partners and colleagues where appropriate
Scope potential to develop new partnerships with local authorities, funders, education organisations where relevant to your projects
Events management
Overall responsibility for the design, management and delivery of all key project sessions/events as part of the projects you have responsibility for
Work with colleagues in the organisation to plan the best way to design and deliver project events/ training sessions to enable collaboration and effective learning
Running/ facilitating project events and sessions as appropriate
Ensure high quality experience of project events for participants whether online or face to face
Support event delivery of major national events (e.g. conferences) where appropriate
