The IT Engineering Systems Team is looking for a SolidWorks & Systems Support Engineer to join them at our head office in Richmond, BC. The team’s mandate is to develop and implement structured but flexible processes and software solutions to support a wide variety of multidisciplinary engineering, design, data, and configuration management problems associated with waterpark design and manufacturing. These solutions bring a high degree of visibility, accountability, and control to corporate engineering and its integration with manufacturing and business processes.
Reporting to the IT Engineering Systems Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for capturing and understanding customer requirements and translating them into tangible, practical software and processes. Developing, testing, documenting, deploying, and supporting these custom applications and associated databases is a key job function. The engineer’s knowledge of CAD modelling, corporate processes, and information systems makes them an important contributor and advisor to the user community and IT Management.
YOUR ROLE
Provide technical support, including troubleshooting and training assistance for users of the engineering systems.
Support and improve production systems through upgrades and patches to minimize cost and risk and maximize uptime and performance.
Master SolidWorks and custom applications to support customers with training and troubleshooting.
Liaise with software authors (CAD and PLM providers) to address bugs, functionality deficiencies, and enhancement requests.
Author and maintain documentation for processes and implemented solutions.
Develop software following existing IT procedures and standards along with industry best practices for code development, source code management, incident tracking and change control.
Analyze and evaluate processes, research technologies, and synthesize solutions to company engineering, data management, and product lifecycle requirements.
Work with engineering users, software vendors, and other stakeholders to analyze requirements, design, plan, program, test and implement custom software and/or improvements to existing solutions.
Collaborate and interact with internal customers to ensure that proposed solutions are implemented as intended – monitor execution of the work.
Design and administer SQL databases, develop efficient queries, stored procedures, and functions for data retrieval and management applications.
Define and align goals with departmental goals then ensure regular performance feedback is completed through formal performance reviews every four months.
YOU BRING
Completion of an engineering degree from a recognized university. Mechanical or mechatronics preferred.
Eligible for registration as an EIT or P.Eng. with EGBC.
Minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
Solid foundation in engineering principles and problem-solving methodologies.
Hands on experience with SolidWorks with an understanding of parametric 3D modelling best practices. Similar CAD software experience would be considered an asset.
Software development and customization experience using C#, .NETWPFMVVM, and SQL.
Knowledge of engineering simulation and analysis tools such as MapleSim, Abaqus, and SolidWorks Flow would be considered an asset.

Strong customer focus to maintain effective internal and external working relationships with all levels in the organization.
Excellent time management in a fast-paced environment; capable of taking steps to deliver on time and on budget.
Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
