Our small accounting team wears many hats and we’re looking for a professional, experienced accountant to analyze and reconcile accounts, build budgets and forecasts, and handle financial reporting. The accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely posting and reporting of financial information for multiple entities.

Duties include:

• Organize and update financial records as needed.
• Analyze ledger account transactions and prepare variance reports.
• Prepare General Ledger entries and financial statements.
• Perform Ledger reconciliations and manage accounts payable.
• Perform regular ledger account reviews to ensure accuracy in financial documents, expenditures, and investments.
• Prepare revenue, project costing and cash flow statements and review profit margins.
• Participate in budgeting and auditing processes.
• Prepare tax[LG1] and other schedules and necessary documents ensuring that they are filed in a timely manner and that all tax payments are paid on time.
• Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly.
• Ensure all Accounts/Payable vouchers are properly approved.
• Keep company financial information confidential.
• Stay informed on industry developments and changes in regulations.
• Collaborate with internal partners to better support the business
• Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as an accountant
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
• Advanced MS Excel knowledge
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Enjoys working on a team and also independently
• BS degree in Accounting or Finance

Helpful:

• CPA certification
• Ability to work on-site in Minneapolis at least 40% of the time/remote work possible

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
