Job Description: Paraprofessionals work 1:1 with students of all ages with special needs on the school bus or in the classroom to support the educational and behavioral goals as listed on the students IEP.

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Supervising the safety of students on the school bus and in the classroom
• Assisting the student to stay focused with the lesson plan
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure students needs are being met
• Guide students to maintain routines and transition to different tasks throughout the day
• Document daily student observations and behaviors

Job Requirements:

• ID Card (passport, permanent resident, driver’s license, learners permit, benefit card, etc.)

• Social Security Card

• 2 Reference Letters

• DOE Fingerprints – $102 out of pocket fee

• High School Diploma or GED

• Medicals

• Physical (within 1 year)

• PPD/Quantiferon (within 1 year)

• Drug Screen (8-10 panels within 1 year)

• Rubella

• Rubeola

• Covid Vaccination (it is mandatory that all paras are fully vaccinated,)

• 2 Para Certificates (We will send the links. One certificate is $8 and the other is $10—out of pocket cost)

• Orientation (you will be scheduled for in-person orientation at our Brooklyn location once the required documents are submitted, we DO NOT offer orientation at other locations.)
