Job Summary:
Lead the Event – Race Services Department at Whistler Blackcomb in a way that is innovative and effective.

Expected Pay Range: $57,200 – $80,516 + annual bonus
Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time, Year Round
Job Responsibilities:
Staff:
Hire and oversee department staffing and volunteers responsible for the daily operation of Summer and Winter Event activations including the WB Race Centre, Crankworx and Fire and Ice production.
Facilitate development of the vision, mission, core values and objectives for the department and updating of these annually.
Develop and implement the winter and summer calendar of events.
Schedule and conduct one on ones and performance reviews with department supervisors.
Share responsibility for conducting weekly meetings with Event Department supervisors, in conjunction with Terrain Park and Tube Park Manager.
Work with in-resort Brand managers to support strategic partnership initiatives as well as source outside funding from stakeholders for related events.
Ensure stakeholder enagement and deliverables are maintained in a timely manner.
Guarantee staff recieve proper training to carry out their jobs and are diligent in promoting staff safety and measuring staff incidents.
Make certain staff are aware of and follow company and department safety standards with regards to work habits.
Financial:
Develop operating and capital budgets for Event Department, track and register assets in a timely manner.
Monitor labor and operating expenses adjust spend in relation to business levels and monthly on operating budget variances in a timely manner.
Divisional:
Attend weekly Operations Division meetings.
Available for bi-weekly 1 on 1’s with Director of Mountain Operations.
Collaborate with other Whistler Blackcomb managers for the most efficient use of company resources and staff.
Liase with mountain sports clubs operating at Whistler Blackcomb.
Colloraborate with 3rd party event organizers on Whistler Blackcomb to ensure success.
Work with the marketing department to promote and build corporate partnerships to support events.
Continuous improvement of Event operations and development of new events to meet the ever changing needs of our guests.
