Whelen Engineering is hiring for Recruiter/Human Resources Specialist in our Charlestown, NH facility.
Job Summary:
The Recruiter/Human Resource Specialist will assist the Human Resource team with complex and specialized tasks including entry/non-exempt recruiting and HR administrative tasks such as data input for new and existing employees, reports, and other support tasks needed to support a busy HR team.
· Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process for entry/non-exempt positions.
· Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
· Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
· Assists with job posting and advertisement processes.
· Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
· Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
· Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
· Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
· Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
· Collaborates with HR team to attend and participate in college job fairs and other outbound recruiting efforts.
Administrative Responsibilities:
· Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related the HR system, including the processing of new hires, job and status changes, pay changes, transfers, terminations, benefit elections, etc. Ensure data integrity through accuracy of entry.
· Assists with HR projects.
· Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
· Plans and supports meetings such as open enrollment and new hire orientation.
· Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, and other compliance reviews.
· Assists with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· 2 – 5 years Human Resources experience preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
