Wheeler Wolfenden and Dwares, CPAs has outstanding opportunities for an individual to fill in Staff Accountant and Senior Accountant positions in our suburban Wilmington, Delaware office.

As a Staff Accountant you will primarily be involved with:

• Performing fieldwork and documenting results in connection with all phases of audits, reviews, and compilations of the financial statements of privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations
• Preparing tax returns for businesses, individuals, estates/trusts, and nonprofit organizations
• Participating in both internal and external continuing education
• Working individually and as a team member on various engagements
• Keeping yourself organized and informing your supervisors/team members of your job progress
• Learning and mastering the wide variety of computer applications utilized by our firm

*For the Staff Accountant position we prefer candidates with the following:

• BS or MS degree in Accounting

• Already passed or made progress towards passing the CPA exam

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient with the use of varied computing/communications equipment and software as well as the intuitive ability to learn new applications

• Good analytical ability

As a Senior Accountant you will primarily be involved with:

• Performing fieldwork and documenting results in connection with all phases of audits, reviews, and compilations of the financial statements of privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations
• Preparing tax returns for businesses, individuals, estates/trusts, and nonprofit organizations with minimal supervision
• Maintain and nurture strong working relationships with appropriate client personnel
• Working individually and as a team member on various engagements, and keeps supervisor informed of job status
• Assumes responsibility for increasing skills, demonstrating strong organization skills, and having attention to detail
• Expands technical knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and formal learning channels

*For the Senior Accountant position we prefer candidates with the following:

• BS or MS degree in Accounting

• Already passed or made progress towards passing the CPA exam

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• 2 to 4 years of relevant accounting and/or tax experience

• Strong knowledge of accounting reporting standards and income tax laws and regulations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
