Education Coordinator

Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) is seeking a creative and energetic educator who loves teaching, team building, learning about the marine environment, and enjoys traveling with a life sized inflatable whale!
Overview:
The Education Coordinator is responsible for the strategic growth, implementation, and facilitation of WDC’s growing formal (school) and informal (outside the classroom) education programs. This position seeks to engage audiences of different ages, backgrounds, and abilities to increase conservation literacy of marine mammals promoting a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free.
This position requires a high level of organization, creativity, and collaboration with WDC staff and community partners, and time split between working in the office and in the field. 
The role is based in our Plymouth, MA, office.  A benefits package is included, along with a chance to see whales and dolphins in the wild.

Role responsibilities:
Lead the creative & strategic development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of WDC education programs. 
Facilitate education programs that include formal Next Generation Science Standards K-12 lesson plans
Lead WDC’s orca team-building program based on Social Emotional Learning skills.
Plan and coordinate logistics for varying community and school events that include Delilah (life-sized inflatable whale) presentations. 
Deliver content for WDC’s online educational efforts that include a monthly newsletter, interactive learning software, workshops & webinars. 
Seek, build, and maintain strategic relationships with local schools, teachers, and community partners to facilitate the implementation of various WDC education programs. 
Work in collaboration with WDC staff to promote educational programs across various platforms, including social media.
Work in collaboration with WDC staff to identify funding opportunities for program development.
Analyze and identify industry trends in an effort to consistently and appropriately evaluate program pricing and services. 
Supervise summer interns and volunteers.
