Westrock Coffee Roasting, LLC Hiring for Director of Technical Accounting Job at Little Rock, AR Full Time

Westrock Coffee Company, LLC (“Westrock”) is searching for a Director of Technical Accounting. The Director will oversee technical accounting matters for Westrock and its operating divisions, ensuring the appropriate application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SEC rules and regulations. In addition, this position will be responsible for managing the requirements of the external auditors including prompt resolution of audit matters. The Director of Technical Accounting reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer of Westrock. The position has ownership for the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all work product, which may include M&A financings, partnerships, new accounting adoption, etc. This position maintains communication and interacts effectively with all levels of the organization. This position supports internal controls and regulatory compliance procedures, tax reporting, and integration of all corporate initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be the subject matter expert on technical accounting matters impacting Westrock
• Review significant contracts and other legal documents to evaluate accounting consequences.
• Prepare technical accounting memos documenting impacts and conclusions
• Maintain the Company’s accounting policy manuals.
• Perform accounting research and provide analysis and conclusion on technical accounting matters to senior leadership.
• Stay current on new and proposed accounting standards and SEC requirements to understand and assess the impact to Westrock.
• Drive the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards in accordance with stated timelines.
• Work closely with external auditors to address accounting for significant transactions.
• Communicate effectively and build strong relationships throughout the organization, including, but no limited to, ad-hoc training to business partners on accounting matters.
• Collaborate with other accounting professionals to align accounting policies across the organization.
• Assist in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/ or Experience:

• 10+ years’ experience in accounting, including Manager level Big 4 experience, with recent technical accounting (US GAAP) and SEC reporting experience.
• Business degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA required.
• Strong aptitude to understand technical accounting concepts under US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 – Revenue Recognition, ASC 842 – Leasing Accounting and accounting implications of M&A activities.
• Strong understanding of internal controls over financial reporting.
• Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic is expected.
• Demonstrates accountability to personal work product.
• Must be a team player and a solution provider

Pay: $175,000.00 – $190,000.00 per year
