Westpac Group Hiring for Software Engineer – Financial Markets Job at Sydney Full Time

How will I help?

The vision of the Financial Markets division within Westpac Institutional Bank is to create a digitally enabled and data-driven Financial Markets business. Sitting within the eCommerce, Digital workflow and UX team, you will help change and transform the way Westpac’s Financial Markets division operates and services clients.

This team is after a Solutions Engineer to develop, create and implement end to end business solutions while partnering with various Financial Markets IT and sales teams to support and guide the business in their digital transformation journey. You will heavily utilise your Full-Stack Developer skills to support and elevate Westpac’s salespeople and traders to be effective and efficient by developing and providing data guided solutions.

You will also:

• Partner and communicate with internal and external stakeholders and providers
• Develop web applications and data driven tools using Javascript and other Full-Stack Developer languages like Python and SQL
• Handle autonomous projects and prioritise deadlines and deliverables

What do I need?

You will be a collaborative and highly technical individual who can embrace agile and lean software development practices while providing a consultative approach to key stakeholders. You will have experience in creating and presenting tools and solutions to the business while contributing to end to end development of web applications.

Some further advantageous skills:

• Financial Services/Markets experience is not required
• Advanced skills in JavaScript and SQL
• Programming experience using Python, Java or similar

• Experience using of ReactJS, HTML 5 and CSS with exposure to NoSQL as an advantage

• Tertiary degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field or practical experience
