Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager working within a small finance team based in the UK and supporting teams in London and teams in over 30 overseas country offices, our Finance Officers play a critical role within WFD.


Job description

The Finance Officer (FO) supports the efficient running of the finance function by ensuring timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of transactional data using WFD’s financial system. In addition, the FO will process payments to WFD’s country offices, and coordinate cash advances for WFD staff.


Responsibilities

Finance Officers are a key point of contact within the finance team, dealing with requests from across the organisation. They take responsibility for –

managing extensive amounts of foreign currency bank payments and transaction processing, the majority of which is via online banking.

processing payments and new supplier set-up

ensuring all finance queries and tasks are dealt with promptly and in line with WFD’s financial calendar, including month end timetable.

processing transactional data and delivering timely and accurate bank and cash advance reconciliations.

Selection process details

The core skills and experience we are looking for are;

Significant work experience in a transactional finance role

At least one year’s work experience in an international, multi-currency transaction processing role.

Experience of working on an online Finance System

Intermediate level Microsoft Excel

Strong knowledge and understanding the basic accounting principles (e.g. credits/debits, accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliation, etc.)

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to multi-task effectively

Experience working with teams and line manager to prioritise tasks.

Proven track record of meeting high standards of delivery with a focus on delivering results and delivering to defined deadlines.

Confident, with a high level of initiative.
