Western Water Associates Ltd. Hiring for Administrative Assistant/Receptionist at Vernon, BC Full Time

The Position
Western Water Associates Ltd. is seeking a motivated, self-reliant, and detail-oriented office administrator assistant for our environmental consulting company based in Vernon (see www.westernwater.ca for more information on our company). We offer a casual working environment, Monday to Friday daytime working hours and flexibility in working days and working hours.
Duties include but not restricted to:

• Reports to President of firm and the financial manager/office administrator, and supports other Project Managers
• Courteously receive and screen all incoming calls, direct calls and take messages.
• Deals with any service issues regarding phones or internet, as well as computer software and hardware.
• Greet, assist and direct all visitors in a professional manner.
• Arrange vehicle and equipment rentals, couriers, and routine payments (e.g. parking space, office rent)
• Performs data entry into spreadsheets
• Record minutes at various meetings and distribute or archive them accordingly
• Uphold electronic and paper filing systems, assist with auditing project quality management.
• Assist with Medical/Dental benefits administration duties
• Office maintenance & supplies management (including company vehicles)
• Assist with invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, outstanding accounts and general accounting.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate would possess the following attributes:

• Previous business administrative experience
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Pleasant and professional manner, in person and on the phone
• Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft office package; Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and work in a fast paced, team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and team-first attitude
• Strong problem-solving abilities, and ability to work without supervision
• Driver’s licence, willingness to get your hands dirty from time to time.

Additional Details
Compensation for the position is expected to be in the $18-25 range based on qualifications, experience and fit for the role. We also offer a benefits package for salaried employees following a probationary period.
We are willing to consider either part-time or full-time employment for the ideal candidate. For part-time, we are looking for someone to be in the office for core business hours, but not necessarily 8 hours a day. For example, 5-6 hours per day would be acceptable in the 9 am to 3 pm range, which may be ideal for someone with school aged children.
