We are currently seeking applications for Vaccination Workers to join our COVID 19 Vaccination hub at QUDOS Bank Arena with Western Sydney Local Health District.
Where you’ll be working
NSW Health is currently seeking staff for clinical and non-clinical roles to work in its network of COVID-19 vaccination clinics and vaccination hubs located across NSW. You will be part of a dynamic team working together to provide vaccinations to our community against the COVID-19 virus.
It is vital that vaccination clinics and hubs provide clinically safe services with collaboration between multidisciplinary staff across clinical and non-clinical staff to deliver excellence in patient experience. Vaccination clinics and hubs will see you working and partnering with a range of staff and roles from Local Health Districts and other key agencies.
What you’ll be doing – Vaccination Clinic – Vaccination Worker
To assist in all aspects of vaccination cold chain, production, inventory control and ancillary medication management at the vaccination centre. Provide technical support to the Pharmacy section and work alongside Pharmacists, Nurses and other health staff.
To administer vaccine to suitably screened, assessed and consenting individuals, according to vaccine administration protocol. To redirect any patient with newly identified health concerns back to the screening and assessment officer, prior to or following vaccination, as appropriate.
What else do you need to know?

You will need to hold general registration with your relevant disciplinary board or relevant bachelor or post graduate degree and/or qualification specific to your discipline

Completed or willing to complete the Sydney University COVID-19 Vaccination Administration Training and competency assessment provided by the LHD if required
Applicants will also be required to provide the following:

Working with Children Check (WWCC) number for paid employment in NSW

Evidence of vaccination against specified infectious diseases

Current University Supervisor References

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated ability to meet the required enrolment and clinical placement as listed in the Essential Requirements.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, through the use of information technology, written and verbal means while interacting with the team in a professional manner.

Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.

Demonstrated understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking and ability to practice in accordance with legislation, policies and within the scope of practice for a Vaccination Worker.

Completed or willing to complete the Sydney University COVID-19 Vaccination Administration Training and competency assessment provided by the LHD if required and demonstrated competency in drawing up COVID-19 vaccines and ability to adhere to aseptic technique either through local training or prior scope of practice and experience or willing to complete training as required by the local health district.

Able to provide an appropriate university referee who is able to comment on the clinical placement(s) undertaken as part of the currently enrolled course.
