We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Specialist at our Perth Head Office on a 12-month maximum term contract.

About this role

As the Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient contract management services in addition to supporting the preparation of proposals, evaluation of responses and negotiation of contracts in order to drive efficiencies and improvements across the relevant supplier base. In this role, you will also be required to:

• Provide effective and efficient contract management services through consistent application of the Contract Management Framework.
• Deliver sustainable, commercially sound and acceptable Contracts/Orders.
• Manage RFQ under established panel arrangements (as required).
• Manage financial performance to ensure that services are delivered within Contract spend approvals.
• Assist in complex negotiations and conflict and dispute resolution through to the agreed business outcome for Western Power.
• Prepare and distribute Contract Performance reports for internal stakeholders and provide an accurate performance history including contract KPI’s and key delivery metrics.
• Contribute to sourcing initiatives to achieve best value outcomes.
• Develop and implement Contract Management Plans as required under the Contract management framework.
• Assist in improving overall risk management, procurement and corporate governance in all commercial arrangements.

About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, Accounting, or related field or relevant and demonstrated strong industry experience of at least 6+ years.
• Detailed and strong knowledge and expertise / experience in contract management, project management, solution or service delivery positions with a minimum of 6+ years demonstrated industry experience at this level.
• Ability to form strong relationships and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and external providers.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills coupled with demonstrated commercial acumen.
• Strong facilitation / negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing and motivating people and changing behaviour.

Candidates who can demonstrate contract administration experience within a construction project environment will be viewed favourably.
