THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring for Entry Level Production Team Members at our Value Added Manufacturing Mill in Chemainus, BC. Our Value Added Mill is a smaller operation that is a fantastic training ground for anyone new to the industry. No previous experience is required we will train those who have the right attitude, want to learn and are not afraid of a little hard work!

What You’ll Do:

• Entry level jobs constant of pulling lumber on the resaw pull chain or planer pull chain and mill cleanup (workers sort the lumber based on the grade, length, width and customer specifications and pull the lumber from the table to the bin).
• All employees must maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Supporting other areas of the operations as needed.

• You have an excellent safety mindset and demonstrated commitment to safety.
• Strong work ethic; accountable and dependable, able to prioritize work, always willing to lend a hand and pitch in when needed, and not afraid to work hard!
• Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
• A desire to participate in an organization committed to continuous improvement.

This position is considered safety sensitive, all successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug test.

Shifts: All employees must be available Monday-Friday for rotating day and afternoon shifts (day shift 7:30-3:30; afternoon shifts 3:30-11:30).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Our ideal candidates have some previous experience working in a labour job in a safety sensitive environment (industrial or trades related environment).
• HOWEVER, we will train people without this background if they have the right attitude and want to learn!
• First Aid/WHMIS is an asset – preference is always given to candidates who have OFA 3.
