What You’ll Do: The Production Analyst will provide accounting and finance support services for the Operation and will serve as an integral part of the accounting team providing accurate, concise, and effective financial processing and reporting. In addition, the role will be responsible for importing and processing daily scale records from scale locations in various formats all while coordinating with multiple business partners on a daily basis. This position is suited to a well-organized and detail oriented individual who possesses the ability to problem solve, multi-task and work well with minimal supervision to meet deadlines while under pressure.
Who You Are: Our ideal candidate has an undergrad degree in Business, Economics or a related field. Along with good working knowledge of MS Office applications and is detailed focused with strong organization and multitask skills. A professional accounting designation would be considered an asset, however not required.
Work Environment: This role will be performed in person at our Port McNeill Forest Operations Office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations
Administer and process production for WFP and other wood flow scenarios as required
Perform daily scale audits, ensuring data integrity maintained throughout scale processing activities
Provide daily production reporting to the operation and maintain production tracking records
Administer contracts and contractor pay in the Log inventory management system
Responsible for operations month-end closing process including journal entries, statistical reporting, account reconciliations, and KPI tracking
Balance sheet and boom reconciliations
Coordinate and communicate with operational and finance personnel across the business related to log flow and distribution matrix changes
Prepare ad hoc reports for management as needed
Support the Division Controller with tracking performance of various projects
Assist the Finance Department and other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics and/or related area would be an asset
Professional accounting designation would be considered an asset, however not required
Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies
Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written
A good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word);
Detail focused and strong ability to multi-task with strong organization skills;
Ability to work with tight deadlines and prioritize tasks;
Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, including building relationships with customers and government agencies
Demonstrates knowledge of full cycle accounting; and
Experience in a financial and/or business services capacity
