The Dean for our College of Technology and Engineering (COTE) performs a broad range of responsibilities that serve to lead the college toward the realization of the Westcliff University mission.

• This role contributes significantly to planning, organizing, and managing services associated with program delivery and support.
• Considerable focus is placed on advising both students and faculty, conducting outreach to potential industry partners and maintaining relationships with existing ones, supporting the admission of new students into the programs, providing information to internal and external collaborators, contributing to the orientation of new students and new faculty, and overseeing student disciplinary issues as needed.
• The Dean is the leader of the faculty of the COTE and primarily responsible for high-quality instruction in the classroom in alignment with the university’s values, policies, and expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Grow the enrollment in existing and future degree and certificate programs in the COTE, by (including but not limited to):
• Creating new and updating existing curricula (in collaboration with COTE faculty) with an emphasis on industry certification(s)
• Collaborating with marketing to ensure materials align with program content and industry needs
• Collaborating with marketing to ensure that materials are produced ahead of the launch of new and existing programs
• Participating in events aimed at attracting potential students to the college
• Conducting program reviews and market research, and designing initiatives to respond to program outcome needs and industry trends/demands
• Obtaining and maintaining ABET accreditation for the COTE programs
• Overseeing COTE faculty (in collaboration with the LITE Center), including (but not limited to):
• Recruiting faculty candidates
• Hiring and onboarding new faculty
• Providing regular observations, reviews, and feedback to improve instructional quality
• Addressing areas of opportunity for performance improvement as needed
• Supporting COTE student success, including (but not limited to):
• Providing advising to students as-needed
• Coordinating availability of appropriate academic resources to enable students to achieve the established course, program, and institutional learning outcomes
• Leading initiatives aimed at improving student performance and retention as needed
• Facilitating relationships and communication related to COTE between faculty, staff, and academic leadership, and other stakeholders
• Leading regular STEM Program Advisory Council meetings
• Achieving the goals of the COTE strategic plan
• Attaining objectives for improving and growing programs
• Tracking and reporting progress on goal achievement to academic and university leadership regularly
• Maintaining the college budget
• Leading COTE projects and coordinating the completion of tasks within established deadlines
• Other duties as assigned
• Experience with curriculum development in one or more of the following areas is required:
• Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Management, Cyber Security, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, or AV/VR/MR/XR.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
