Programme Tutor – Accounting and Finance

We are seeking an individual who is keen to work with young people, to use their knowledge and skills to coach and mentor the next generation of Apprentices. This opportunity to become a Tutor within the Accounting and Finance Team at West Suffolk College will give the successful candidate the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of our students.
We are one of the country’s leading further education and apprenticeship providers. Our apprenticeship results have consistently remained above the national average. We have around 13,000 students including nearly 2,000 apprentices studying with us.
The role will involve managing an agreed caseload of Apprenticeship students and supporting the development of their skills, knowledge and behaviour on a one-to one basis. This will include ensuring they receive the necessary on-the job training and that they are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment element of their programme. No two days are the same and the post-holder will enjoy the benefits of managing their own diary, working with a diverse caseload of individuals and travelling extensively across the East of England.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of mentoring or coaching others in any capacity, with the ability to motivate and inspire young people in learning. With strong attention to detail, effective time management skills and a good level of Maths, English and ICT skills, you will be able to work under your own direction and plan and manage your own workload. A qualification or experience in Accounting or Procurement is desirable but not essential.
