As the first point of contact for prospective employees you will be an ambassador for the College Group values, supporting new staff through the recruitment, onboarding and induction processes. You will need to communicate and engage employees at all levels of the organisation.
Alongside this you will assist in creating and uploading recruitment adverts, arranging interviews (in person and remotely), keeping accurate records on our integrated HR and Payroll system iTrent and assisting with team priorities as needed. On a daily basis you will answer a range of general HR queries over the telephone, face to face and by email.
We are a small team so you can expect to gain exposure to a range of HR and Payroll processes. This could be a great first step for someone who is looking for a career in HR. Training and support will be provided, plus there will be an opportunity to enrol on the Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship within the first two years of employment.
We process high volumes of confidential information and data, so the successful candidate must be confident they can work with conflicting deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
In addition, other responsibilities will include supporting the HR team with activities such as processing of pre-employment checks, arranging staff training opportunities, data entry and filing. You will also have the opportunity to support the wider HR on a range of HR projects which could include organising communications and events focused on Staff Wellbeing and Equality and Diversity.
It is essential the right candidate is proficient in working with Microsoft Office packages and has a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word. The post holder is based at our Watford campus, with occasional travel to other campuses as needed.
