West Fraser Hiring for Loader Operator at Fairfax, SC Full Time

West Fraser Allendale is seeking experienced Loader Operators to join our team. The Loader Operator role is required to support the team by moving materials around the wood yard in order to produce oriented strand board (OSB).

What you will do:

Loader Operators are responsible for the safe operation of Heavy Equipment and various wood yard machinery in order to support the OSB production process. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate heavy equipment to support the oriented strand board (OSB) process
• Support the wood yard area, troubleshoot, and correct issues as required.
• Support team in flaker knife changes.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance and clean-up on equipment
• Work safely and effectively in a team environment
• Involvement in ongoing process improvement in the work area
• Complete shift paperwork and recordkeeping
• Attend team meetings and regular training sessions
• Comply with all Company safety standards and protocols
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications you will need:

• Eligible to legally work in the United States
• High School diploma or equivalent education
• Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work as part of a team and deliver value to the team
• Willingness and ability to cross-train to learn new jobs and skills
• Consistent, predictable attendance
• Ability to multi-task and work in a high-paced environment
• Posses strong computer and analytical skills

Specialized knowledge or skills needed for promotion into certain roles:

• Ability to maintain all equipment in assigned area
• Ability to enhance or improve processes and procedures
• Ability to wear a respirator in specifically assigned areas
