Our Quesnel River Pulp (QRP) Division is seeking individuals with strong technical, leadership, planning, organization and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:
ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION
MAINTENANCE PLANNER
You will report to the Maintenance Superintendent and are key in making your department & mill safer, efficient, and highly productive. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge, as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leader for WEM (Work execution management) for all routine and shutdown work order planning and scheduling functions as required to maintain reliable equipment operation for QRP
Coordinate and supervise contract services for weekly routine and shutdown work when required
Use Maximo (CCMS) to estimate work orders and projects for material, trades personnel, tools and equipment requirements staying in partnership with Engineering, and Mechanical Departments
Assist Mechanical planner to facilitate the Planning and Scheduling work team weekly planning meetings
Develop and update detailed weekly & shutdown schedules
Coordinate scheduled jobs into weekly schedules according to manpower, materials, tools and equipment along with work packages for all scheduled jobs to the maintenance supervisor
Maintain a daily focus on the safety of self and others. Ensure that all safety training and documentation is accurate and up to date
Participate in all department safety meetings
Use Maximo (CCMS) maintenance management tool to create job plans, preventive maintenance plans, bill of materials, and document work history
Applying and expanding new technology and industry learning’s toward the work of equipment and process reliability improvement
Lead and supervise a group of Electrician’s and Instrument Tech’s to maintain all equipment in the absence of the current supervisor (when required)
Improve/maintain Preventative Maintenance and Corrective Repair job plans based on feedback provided by our highly skilled E/I team
Manage the maintenance backlog, by leading review meetings, reviewing new work orders to ensure there is enough information to proceed with planning, working with the Production/Maintenance Coordinator to prioritize the backlog
Work with Stores / Purchasing for maintaining inventory/inventory levels & rebuild of equipment
Assist in developing Key Performance Indicators to drive process improvement
The successful candidate must have:
A valid red seal trades certificate or Bachelors in Applied Science/Engineering
5 years of experience in either a pulp mill or heavy industrial setting is preferred
Strong leadership, planning, budgeting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of computer software and applications, with a preference given to a candidate with Maximo, MS Suite
Good organizational and project management skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
The desire to progress, learn, grow and succeed
The candidate must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management
