Vacancy Description
The HR Services team is looking for an experienced and appropriately qualified Assistant HR Officer to assist with the management of the Council’s apprenticeship programme. This post is fixed term until 31st March 2022 pending a HR structure review.
This role will involve you working alongside services to assess their training needs and to identify suitable training providers to deliver the relevant apprenticeship training. You will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting the apprenticeship levy spend as well as working with various committees and forums to allocate the funds.
You will be required to keep up to date with the latest developments to the apprenticeship levy system and standards available, promoting these opportunities amongst the workforce, and ensuring our policies and procedures are accurate and up to date.
You should have HR experience, a passion for apprenticeships and ideally a level 3 CIPD qualification. You must be able to work on your own initiative with the confidence to attend meetings and briefings, delivering information and guidance to a wide audience including senior managers, members and external providers. You will need excellent communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines and enjoy working as part of a busy team.
On this occasion we are open to accepting applications from those who are willing to work towards their CIPD Level 3.
We are ideally looking to offer the successful candidate the full number of hours advertised above. We may however consider offering less hours than advertised providing they meet the requirements of the role and service which will be determined by the recruiting manager.
