An exciting newly created trainee opportunity has become available for a Trainee Accounts Administrator to join our in-house Finance and Regulations team in Bath.

The role

As the Trainee Accounts Administrator, this role will involve providing high-quality management accounting information and proactive advice to various companies within the Wessex Water Group, which includes Wessex Water Enterprises, Swiss Combi Technology, EnTrade and Turnbull.

You’ll do this to enable them to manage their business in an efficient and effective manner and to ensure financial policies and procedures are consistent across the group.

Responsibilities of this role include:

• assisting in the preparation of monthly accounts

• supporting quarterly forecasts and budget preparations
• running and uploading capital forecasts
• balance sheet reconciliations
• assisting business areas with financial reporting
• keeping finance records in Agresso up to date

• intercompany accounting
• general administrative tasks.

This is a trainee position, so we will provide you with the necessary training, coaching and mentoring to help get you up and running in this position. We will also support you with your studies for AAT qualifications.

What do I need?

Previous experience working within a finance or accounts role would be helpful due to the nature of the work we do, but this is certainly not essential. This is a training opportunity, so we are really keen to see candidates with a genuine passion to progress and develop their career within an accounts role

The role will involve working with high volumes of data and numbers, so it is essential you have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, while also being confident using formulas, Lookups and pivot tables.

Alongside this, you will be IT literate and able to competently use other Microsoft packages, such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

Lastly, you’ll be a people person and confident engaging with various stakeholders face to face, over the phone and via email.
