TAS Teacher – Food Technology and Mandatory Technology

(Temporary, Part-Time, T2, T3, T4, Negotiated commencement)

Wenona is seeking an innovative and experienced teacher of Food Technology and Mandatory Technology to join our collaborative TAS faculty and to inspire our young women through dynamic classroom practice, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance.

We view classroom teaching as a clinical practice, whereby teachers refine their skills and reflect on their own performance through the annual Wenona Improvement Cycle. This includes observed practice of our teaching by our colleagues and 360-degree feedback for all teachers.

Wenona supports both academic and professional services staff to develop their expertise through initiatives such as Wenona Teaching Fellowships, Seeding Grants and ongoing outstanding professional learning that develops and supports career development into the future.

This is a temporary part-time position with a flexible commencement date.

Key priorities

• Ability to Teach Stage 5 Food Technology and Stage 4 Technology.
• Proven ability to ensure teaching and learning activities reflect contemporary pedagogy, including the ability to integrate an inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning.
• Ability to inspire our TAS students and a commitment to supporting our thriving TAS program.
• Ability to plan and implement for authentic assessment that informs teaching and learning.
• Ability to assess, record and provide effective feedback for students.
• A commitment to student wellbeing and meeting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of young people.
• A commitment to collaborative teaching practices and an ability to contribute to the TAS team of professional educators.
• Ability to learn and use ICT to facilitate and enrich student learning and engagement.

Education and Experience

• Experience and qualifications in teaching Stage 5 Food Technology and Stage 4 Technology.
• Strong knowledge of NESA curriculum.
• NESA Accreditation.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check.

General conditions of the role

• Award & Classification: Independent Schools NSW/ACT Standards Model (Teacher’s) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021.
• Hours of work: Temporary, Part-Time.
• Reporting Line: All positions report to the Principal.
• The line manager for this position: Head of TAS.
• Professional Learning: You will be expected to attend and contribute to all staff professional development days and requirements as outlined in the School’s calendar.
