Vice President within Corporate Debt Finance Group, which sits within the Asset Backed Finance division of Wells Fargo Securities. Corporate Debt Finance provides capital to asset managers and other non-bank financial institutions through structured credit facilities and acts as underwriter on collateralized loan obligations.

The main function of this position is to originate, execute and perform surveillance of credit facilities and CLO transactions managed by the Corporate Debt Finance group. The job requires active involvement in all aspects of the deal process (e.g. underwriting, legal negotiation, servicing, and closing), which requires working directly with clients on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

• Partner with team’s lead banker in London by originating credit facilities in Europe (backed by leveraged loans), educating clients on our structure and terms.
• Continue the build out of Corporate Debt Finance’s European lending/CLO practice through active outreach to prospective clients and the origination of credit facilities in Europe.
• Analyse potential transactions, create credit memos, prepare borrowing bases, and negotiate legal documentation for the execution of both credit facilities and CLOs.
• Review and negotiate legal documentation related to bilateral, club and syndicated loan transactions.
• Conduct on-site due diligence at client site and documenting the results.
• The role also involves surveillance, portfolio management and day-to-day monitoring of Corporate Debt Finance’s existing credit facilities, as well as the preparation of internal and external marketing materials.
• Implement best practices to our European business and keep US colleagues informed about market/industry trends in Europe.

Required Qualifications, International:

• Experience in one or a combination of capital markets or investment banking, preferably with direct experience with either the European Private Debt lending or CLO structuring and origination
• A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
• Analytical skills to understand complex loan documents and borrower structures
• Basic understanding of the Regulatory regimes around lending in Europe
• Ability to develop strong and trusting relationship with both internal and external clients swiftly and effectively
• Experience in successful strategic planning and execution
• Experience in presenting to clients
• A strong working knowledge of asset securitizations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
• Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
• Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
• Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Completion of a formal corporate credit training program is a plus.
