Wells Fargo Hiring for Finance Analyst – FACS Job at Charlotte, NC Full Time

Wells Fargo is seeking a Finance Analyst on the FACS Securities team that will act as a subject matter expert providing very detailed functional support between Finance, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Risk and Operations teams and the Information Technology organization. This subject matter expertise requires financial analysts to have a developed understanding and expertise in structured products (ABS, MBS, CMBS, CLOs, MCOs), short term money markets, corporate bonds, government bonds, equities, listed options and financing trade strategies covering that activity (securities lending and repurchase agreements) materially impacting our balance sheet. This knowledge is required to perform analysis of highly complex business problems across all business units that they will then solve and support with the automation of process solutions. This role will ensure those solutions align across the multiple functions and strategies within Finance, Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Risk and Operations as team members will be involved in multiple strategic initiatives across the organization in parallel with all the below daily responsibilities and requirements.

In this role, you will:

• Understand the operational processes around complex trade flow capture, transactional and positional reconciliations between front office, middle office and back office systems, complex adjustment schedules for tracking daily profit and loss totals, price validation and management reporting for these products.
• Be able to review very specific product level regulatory reporting requirements and develop daily, monthly and quarterly reporting used in SEC, FED, FINRA, Volcker and other Domestic and International Regulatory Reporting.
• Have a strong understanding of GAAP accounting for Balance Sheet and Income Statement concepts including cost and mark to market accounting as they are responsible for leading daily accounting configuration portfolio monitoring of controls, variance/trend analysis and reporting.
• Spearhead efforts in identification and implementation of process controls, documentation of our consolidated reporting and control architecture, and establishing an effective and G&O compliant architecture for daily financial reporting.
• Face off with internal and external audit and COSO for a high risk application as defined under operational risk guidelines.
• Have a robust understanding of relational databases where they will need to interrogate large volumes of data via SQL queries that they develop.

This is a very high exposure group and the ideal candidate will be a driver of change in establishing processes, developing operational rigor and building effective partnerships within and across teams.

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, accounting, finance, or other business related field
• Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using SQL or similar querying methods
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
• Ability to manage process improvement initiatives to optimize operational effectiveness and efficiencies
• Knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, with emphasis on bonds, equities, listed options and secured financing products
• Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using SQL or similar querying methods
• Experience with project management and familiarity with trading conventions and operating processes for trading instruments
• Knowledge of Finance and Accounting concepts, methodologies and systems. (Cost Basis Accounting, GAAP, Balance Sheet and Income Statement)
• Exposure to regulatory framework for traded products, including Dodd-Frank and FINRA
• Familiarity with trading desk operations and securities systems (Catalyst, Fidessa, Brass, Broadridge, Loanet, GlobalOne)
