Wells Fargo is seeking a Finance Analyst within the Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) Finance team supporting Investment Banking.

Investment Banking (IB) encompasses Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Capital Markets products and services sold via product and coverage bankers. M&A provides a full range of services including buyside and sellside advisory, mergers, recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, and divestitures amongst others. Capital Markets focus on providing tailored financing solutions in the areas of Debt Capital Markets (origination, structuring, syndicate, and sale of high yield and investment grade loan and bond products) and Equity Capital Markets (origination of primary equity transactions and manage structuring, syndication, marketing and distribution of equity, equity linked and equity derived products).

As a member of the Investment Banking finance team, the Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting cross business finance activities and specific cost centers in Investment Banking and CIB Banking. The finance support functions include analyzing and reporting monthly financial performance, informing senior management of variances and trends, assisting in monthly close and monthly forecasting, managing requests for financial information, and supporting enterprise functions such as CCAR and RRP. Business Finance identifies areas of financial risk and mitigates efforts appropriately. It improves financial performance by analyzing business unit performance and recommending areas of improvement. The position requires in-depth research of financial and operational data and the ability to articulate the data to senior management and other related groups. Also, this individual will be working on projects that support the strategic growth initiatives of Investment Banking.

Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Perform financial reporting, planning and analysis for Investment Banking Capital Markets.
• Analyze monthly Cost Center results and provide monthly commentary to business leaders and present to them as requested.
• Support business leaders ad hoc requests for analysis and information
• Partner with the IB finance team in updating the monthly line of business expense projections including initiatives as part of the 9qtr rolling forecast process.
• Work closely with the Enterprise Finance Centers of Excellence, Corporate Accounting, Controllers Groups, and other support groups to meet accounting/finance objectives.
• Support regulatory and International reporting deliverables on a recurring basis.
• Assist in preparation of the IB Daily P&L’s.

Required Qualifications, US:

• 2+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
• A Master of Business Administration or designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• 2+ years of financial analysis experience
• 2+ years of financial reporting experience
• Essbase and/or SmartView experience
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex issues
• Knowledge and understanding of corporate and investment banking products and services
• Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines
• Ability to prepare management level presentations
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
