Wellington Professional Recruitment Looking for Project Manager – Track Maintenance at Belfast, County Antrim Full Time

We require a Track Maintenance Project Manager for one of Northern Irelands largest Public Body’s, to manage a wide range of revenue and capital funded civil engineering projects from inception though to closure. Projects types include a range of PWay assets (re-rails, renewals, component life extension and refurbishment works) including environmental considerations on the railway network and will include complex, multidisciplinary projects as well as minor works.

As Track Maintenance Project Manager your new role will include but not be limited to the following:

• Define project requirements and scope and prepare Project Brief
• Develop and maintain Project Execution Plan
• Manage design development process and technical approvals
• Support development of project Business Case (Economic Appraisal)
• Develop project budget costs and contingency (risk allowance) and manage through project life cycle.
• Develop project schedule and critical path
• Plan and manage the P’Way contracts
• Manage Change Control
• Carry out Site Inspections

Essential experience should include the following:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing civil engineering projects
• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or other relevant construction related degree
• Sound knowledge and experience of project management methodologies and documentation
• Experience in managing NEC Professional Service and/or Works Contracts
• Good understanding of civil/structural engineering and construction related technical issues
• Proven experience in managing project budgets and schedules

Desirable experience would include:

• Experience in managing civil engineering projects for rail or highway structures (e.g. rail assets, roads, structures, drainage etc.)
• Knowledge of public procurement practice for construction works and services
• Experience of working in a safety critical environment
• Project Management accreditation (IPMA Level D or above) e.g APM, Prince 2
