Wellington Professional Recruitment Looking for Civil Engineer at Belfast, County Antrim Full Time

Opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join a busy Engineering and Architectural practice in Belfast due to an increasing pipeline of work within a range of sectors, but primarily water and wastewater projects. Our Client established their practice in 1963 and has an enviable client base built on fostering partnerships and building relationships within Public and Private Sector and the supply chain. They successfully deliver prestigious construction projects within Education, Leisure, Infrastructure (Road and Water), Residential, Environmental and Commercial sector.

As a Civil Engineer (Wastewater) you will join a new team within a large public sector agency delivering first time storm and sewer connections and proposing wastewater network infrastructure extensions and upgrades. The new Development Solutions Team is responsible for producing development specific engineer’s reports, detailing self-funding options for developers that will enable a connection to NI Waters infrastructure. The team will work collaboratively with developers through the detailed design stage, provide on-site quality supervision and manage post construction asset adoptions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the new Solutions Engineering Team and under the guidance of senior team members you will undertake the following duties:

• Assessment of potential development specific solution engineering options,
• Liaison with Modelling Teams, Asset Management and Wastewater Production Line,
• Liaison with external stakeholders including NIEA, Rivers Agency, Councils and Transport NI,
• High level cost estimating for localised options,
• Production of Solution Engineering Reports,
• Management of developer on-site asset checks & enabling works,
• Review of developers detailed design proposals.

KEY ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential

• Applicants must have a degree in civil engineering,
• Previous experience of sewage infrastructure design,
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills,
• Confidence and ability to work within a team, but with a degree of autonomy.

Desired

• Previous experience in developing civil solutions for residential developments,
• Circa 2- 5 years’ experience in a similar role working on civil engineering infrastructure or developer projects.
