Wellington Professional Recruitment Looking for Civil Design Engineer – Wastewater at Belfast, County Antrim Full Time

As Civil Design Engineer you will join a team of Design and Project Management Civil Engineering professionals to deliver NI Water’s ambitious, multi-million pound Living with Water Programme (LWWP). LWWP is a £1.4bn Integrated Plan for Drainage and Wastewater Management in Greater Belfast. We are seeking a Civil Design Engineer to support our existing experienced team currently working on this 12 year programme of work.

Our Client established their practice in 1963 in Belfast and has an enviable client base built on fostering partnerships and building relationships within Public and Private Sector and the supply chain. They successfully deliver prestigious construction projects within Education, Leisure, Infrastructure (Road and Water), Residential, Environmental and Commercial sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a member of the Civil Engineering Team and under the guidance of senior team members you will undertake the following duties:

• Completion of feasibility and appraisal studies through investigations and root cause analysis
• Develop and assess options for various technical challenges
• Undertake concept and detailed design activities for some of Northern Ireland’s largest wastewater assets
• Scoping work and development of contract documents including undertaking site visits and development of concept design drawings,
• Managing and liaising with site supervision staff
• Liaising and co-ordinating with client, other design team members, both in house, other offices and/or external consultants and contractors,
• Attending design team meetings and client liaison meetings as appropriate,
• Assisting in the preparation of drawings, programmes, specifications and progress reports using Microsoft Office software.

To be considered for this role you will have:

• Applicants must have a degree in civil engineering,
• Previous experience in design activities related to wastewater or water treatment works projects
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills,
• Confidence and ability to work within a team, but with a degree of autonomy.
