Role Location
Northern Ireland – we operate a hybrid model with some office-based time and working from home (ratio flexible).
HQ is based in Belfast, and we also have an office in Clontarf, Dublin.

What will I be doing day to day?
In a nutshell – you will play a key role as part of the Leadership team, ensuring the delivery of a ‘best in class’ HR service to Wellington IT.
In a bit more detail you will;
HR Strategy
Act in a Wellington Leadership role to develop and deliver a people strategy which supports Company growth plans
Be a strong coach to leadership and management to support and improve their approach to people management and development
Design and deliver strategic HR initiatives and projects which effectively address people issues and support an excellent employee experience
Organisational Design
Partner with Wellington leadership to consistently review the organisational structure, ensuring that the Company is always best positioned to scale and offer career development opportunities to employees
Employee Engagement
Design & deliver employee engagement initiatives
Maintain a consistent focus on employee experience and coach management and staff to drive towards this at all times
Reward & Recognition
Consistently benchmark compensation & benefits offerings, ensuring that Wellington remains competitive and in a strong position to both attract and retain top talent
Administer benefit schemes for Wellington IT staff
Proactively research creative ways to reward and recognise staff including non-monetary compensation
Talent Management & Succession Planning
Work with leadership and management to design career pathways enabling employees to clearly see possible progression routes and their future career with Wellington
Ensure that strong succession plans are in place across Wellington IT and partner with people managers to ensure successor ‘readiness’
Manage the coordination of the company-wide Talent Management process and coach managers and staff on the process and its value
Ensure performance improvement plans & development plans are actioned
Learning & Development
Partner with people managers and leadership to perform ongoing training needs analysis for their teams and ensure learning & development becomes part of the culture of the Company
Promote learning & development; ensuring training needs are being proactively addressed by both staff and management
Recruitment and Selection
Build a strong employer brand and employee value proposition which positions Wellington as an employer of choice
Design and deliver effective recruitment processes ensuring a longer term pipeline of top quality hires and a consistently excellent candidate experience
Onboarding
Continuously improve onboarding processes including streamlining and digitalising, ensuring new hires are up to speed efficiently and effectively and that their onboarding experience is excellent
Policies and Procedures
Continuously improve policies & procedures to ensure that they are robust, easy to understand and aligned with market offerings
Ensure compliance to HR policies and procedures via coaching & training and addressing non-compliance promptly
Employee Relations
Proactively partner with people managers to ensure employee relations issues are addressed before escalating unnecessarily
Lead on Employee Relations cases
Coach line managers on risk; of actions, communications etc and build confidence in participation in difficult conversations & potential disputes
Records
Drive Workday to be ‘one source of truth’ for people data ensuring effective use by staff and management
Ensure compliance with GDPR for people data including compliance to retention periods
HR Insights & Reporting
Provide useful HR insights and analysis on a regular and ad hoc basis to leadership and management to inform people related decisions and initiatives
Work closely with Finance team to ensure relevant people data is provided to them to enable accurate Payroll processing
Travel to offices in other locations (national/international) to provide HR support as necessary or attend events
Perform any other reasonable duties as required

Whilst your role will be dedicated to Wellington IT, you will be part of a wider Group with other HR professionals just like you, who work for their own dedicated Company’s too. You will therefore have access to HR colleagues for ideas generation, sharing, coaching, advice and support.
What do I need to be eligible to apply?
You need;
A Bachelor’s Degree in HR or a Business or Psychology related discipline with strong academic results (2:1 or above)
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role with responsibility for all or parts of the HR function
Strong experience of recruitment & onboarding
Experience of employee engagement initiatives and culture related activities
Experience of leading HR projects
Experience of leading employee relations cases including discipline, grievance & sickness absence
Experience of analysing and presenting information to different audiences e.g. employees, management and leadership
Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent IT skills including high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
Currently holds independent right to work in the UK / Ireland
It’s not a deal breaker but we would really like it if you also had:
CIPD membership
Experience of working in the IT industry
People Management experience
Experience of using Workday or other HRIS
Experience of working in a HR role serving employees in both Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland
Full, clean EU issued driving licence
