These challenges need the bold research our funding supports, but they won’t be solved by science alone. We are looking for a Junior Accounts Payable Assistant to the Accounts Payable team in Financial Accounting.
The Accounts Payable Team is responsible for running the accounts payable processes ensuring accurate processing, recording and control of operational financial transactions.
In this role you will
  • Provide support to the Accounts Payable team with reviewing and processing of invoices and expenses using the Concur system
  • Process Sales Invoice requests in Agresso from across the business
  • Preparing monthly supplier account reconciliations and investigating & resolving reconciling items
  • Resolving payment queries from suppliers, invoice owners and employees, escalating these for a resolution as required
  • Manage and maintain the Accounts Payable email inbox and departmental mail inbox – answering, processing and / or distributing queries accordingly
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.
  • Exercise cost control and seek approval for expenditure to ensure we work within the agreed operating budget
To be successful in this role you will have
  • Good customer service skills (Query resolution experience is desirable)
  • Computer literate – including Microsoft Office
  • Good numerical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with others and self-motivated/able to work on own initiative
  • Keen interest to pursue a career in Finance
Salary: £24,225
