Wellbeing Software Hiring for Database Developer Job at Mansfield, England Full Time

Are you an experienced database developer looking to join a business at the heart of improving patient healthcare through digital technology? If so then we may have the role for you. We are looking for an experienced database developer to join our in-house team of specialists.

Our database development team play a key role in supporting the design, implementation, operation and optimisation of databases that are integral within our products. Working in collaboration with our application developers, project managers and operational service teams they provide innovative solutions to deliver against customer requirements and provide consistently high levels of service to ensure optimal performance and availability of our products.

Our team of database developers work on a variety of tasks including:

· Design and development of database components for our products including supporting documentation

· Development and delivery of data migration projects, from third party and in-house systems

· Database optimisation including developing performance parameter tuning

· Performing problem resolution and on-going monitoring and resolving technical issues as appropriate

· Understand the ongoing challenges of using a RDBMS in an enterprise environment including managing performance and maintenance activities

· Development and maintenance of ETL processes

· Providing technical support to resolve customer issues

· Develop stored procedures using PL/pgSQL

· Tune SQL queries and be able to read and understand query plans

If you are interested in joining our team and in particular have experience of using a modern RDMBS, especially PostgreSQL then we’d love to hear from you. Ideally you will also have:

· The ability to write complex SQL, tune queries and understand a query plan. Ability to investigate SQL performance on operational databases

· The ability to recognise a well-designed database – including database normalisation and the compromises that sometimes necessitate breaking it, including an understanding of indexing, constraints etc.

· Experience and understanding of best practice processes for the migration of data into production systems, ideally within healthcare
