Job Description

The Engineering Admin position will support the Engineering and Production teams on tasks necessary to transition information to the operations teams.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

The candidate must show the ability to organize, communicate and collaborate professionally and be proficient in the use of office software (i.

e. Microsoft Office). This position is new to WEISS North America, and we are looking for a candidate who wants to take on new endeavor, grow with the company, and own this entire process.

The Engineering Admin will directly to the Engineering Manager.

Job Responsibilities – Engineering Admin

• Support the Engineering, Procurement, and Production Planning departments in various aspects
• Communicate with customers to obtain appropriate files and approval documents as required
• Create part numbers (standard and custom) as necessary in a uniform process
• Interpret technical drawings to define materials and process steps necessary to produce the part or assembly
• Collaborate with Engineering to construct and maintain product bills of materials (BOMs) and operational router steps for manufactured products and assemblies using the company’s ERP software, Microsoft Dynamics (NAV)
• Identify potential discrepancies between ERP and Engineering Drawing BOMs and communicate it within the Engineering group for corrections as necessary
• Assist with releasing the appropriate files (drawings / CAD) to the production floor and outside vendors and maintaining files shown in ERP and PDM
• Assist Project Engineers with file structure and project related content including sales quotes, sales orders, purchase quotes, purchase orders, manufacturing drawings, project checklists, project photos, etc.
• Work closely with existing and future outside suppliers as required
• Assist purchasing by obtaining quotations, issuing purchase orders, following up on supplier deliveries, etc.
• Assist with tracking, communicating, and expediting active project schedules between Project Engineers and Operation teams
• Communicate with all departments, customers, and suppliers efficiently to support on-time deliveries of multiple projects
• Strive to achieve the prestigious quality and expectations on each order provided by WEISS North America
• Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed

Desired Skills & Experience – Engineering Admin

• Education : High school degree or GED required
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience manufacturing, engineering, or sales assist environment
• Experience within a purchasing-role functions is a plus
• Strong desire to learn and work with a fast-growing, high-tech leader in factory automation equipment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with a sense of urgency
• Well organized with an aptitude for details
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Have the ability to multi-task and produce quality results under pressure
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Must be self-started and able to work independently with little supervision
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP is a plus, but not required
• Must be hands on and have the ability to understand and demonstrate our products effectively
