Weil Tennis Academy Hiring for High School Math/Science Teacher Full Time

Start Date: April 2023

Summary

The Secondary Math and Science teacher will be responsible for teaching two sections of Physics and one section of Statistics to High School boarding students from 7:55-11:20 am Monday through Thursday, with Physics labs held from 8:00-10:00 am every other Friday.

This part-time position may lead to a full-time upper-level math and science teaching position for the right candidate next school year.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Math/Science Teacher

• Have a passion for upper-level Math and Science and have the ability to share knowledge in an engaging, progressive manner with students of varying abilities and backgrounds
• Must be proficient in all Math/Science courses (Algebra 1, Algebra 2/Trig, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Chemistry, and Physics).
• Must be proficient with technology and able to utilize our LMS (Canvas)
• Attend bi-monthly Teacher Meetings on Monday afternoons from 12:15-1:00 pm
• Hold Office Hours one night per week from 7-9 pm
• Act as Advisor to small group of students
• Conduct Physics labs every other Friday morning
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal
• Develop supportive, positive relationships with students
• Maintain communication with parents and residential staff
• Ensure curriculum and instructional strategies maintain academic rigor
• Develop hands-on and creative activities
• Encourage critical thinking and developing higher-order thinking skills
• Consistent use of differentiation strategies and techniques
• Participate in staff meetings and maintain consistent and regular ing
• Maintain consistent, appropriate classroom discipline

The ideal candidate would be an experienced educator who is innovative with the ability to adopt instructional and classroom strategies to a diverse student body from a variety of backgrounds in a setting that puts non-academic stresses on students.

Weil Tennis Academy & College Preparatory School is a WASC-accredited boarding school for grade levels 7-12. Our students are junior tennis players interested in playing tennis at the collegiate level. It is located in the beautiful Ojai Valley in Southern California, just 17 miles from the beach and minutes from mountains with great hiking trails.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $714.00 – $820.00 per week
