The Audit Intern will perform basic auditing procedures, such as cash, investments, payables, fixed assets, debt and compliance. Additional duties will include:

• Preparing basic financial statements; not-for-profit and/or for-profit tax returns; workpapers; and memos to document audit procedures.
• Efficiently completing audit programs, checklists and workpapers without over-auditing.
• Reviewing internal controls and offer methods for improvement when deficiencies are found.
• Writing audit letters and drafting management letter comments.
• Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The ideal candidates will be proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel); have knowledge of general ledger accounting software and an understanding of GAAP. He/she should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated efficiency in completing multiple projects within limited time restraints.
