Job Description:
The Department of History at Weber State University invites
applications for an Historian of U.S. History for
the period 1830 to the present — excluding Gilded Age and the
Progressive Era — at the rank of Assistant
Professor beginning Fall 2023. The
desired candidate will specialize in historically marginalized
communities in U.S. History.

Job Duties:
The teaching load is four courses per semester. The successful
candidate will be required to teach the U.S. History survey and at
least one of the following introductory level U.S. History courses:
The Black Experience, The Latinx Experience, or The LGBTQ
Experience or develop a new introductory course in their area of
specialization. Candidates will also be required to teach upper
division courses in their area of specialization.

Required Qualifications:
PhD in History is required prior to appointment. ABD candidates may
apply, however, the PhD must be in hand by July 1,
2023.
