Main Purpose of the Job
1. To lead on day-to-day corporate finance related matters for Purple and manage an efficient, cost-effective finance function consistent with modern accounting approaches, legislation, and parent company policy and protocols.
2. Ensure the smooth running of Purple’s finances and oversee all financial activities, ensuring the delivery and reporting of all agreed financial targets 3. Lead on developing and modelling financial strategies for new business that increase profitability
4. To determine and implement all matters related to the financial controls and governance of all income and expenditure, including the management of client funds.
Responsibilities of Job
· To manage Purple’s day to day accounting function ensuring that proper books and records are maintained and that stringent financial controls are in place and implemented
· To oversee the development and implementation of the annual budget-setting process and ensure that year end accounts are produced accurately and on time
· To support the long-term planning mechanisms, budgets and management information in line with strategic planning objectives and execution
· To take responsibility for the management of monthly income and expenditure accounts, cash flow, a regular balance sheet and monthly management accounts and forecasting. All financial statements should be accompanied by a written narrative to support the translation and interpretation of the figures
· To operate an efficient financial reporting system which provides timely accurate and relevant information and to draft financial reports as necessary for the Managing Director and the Board
· To take lead responsibility for putting in place the required financial controls, undertaking regular checks and audits to ensure compliance, as well as monitoring compliance with broader financial management standards and regulations
· To lead on financial and commercial modelling for business-to-business products and services and direct payment tenders
· To build and maintain relationships with businesses and local authorities in relation to financial modelling and performance reporting
· To take day to day responsibility for stakeholder relationships with the bank and liaise with external auditors on annual accounts and taxation matters
· To line manage the Corporate Finance function
· To ensure that the staff and corporate-led payrolls are run efficiently, accurately and to time
· To work with relevant staff members and external partners to support funding applications relating to financial matters
· To review capital expenditure proposals and make recommendations as to their viability and to monitor actual capital expenditure against projections

Person Specification
· A recognised financial accountancy qualification, or equivalent
· Ambitious to deliver the highest standards of financial management in a rapidly growing business
· Ability to manage a team
· Excellent influencing, negotiating and communication skills
· Knowledge of robust financial controls
· Understanding of payroll processes
· Capable of analytical forward thinking
· A high standard of computer literacy
· Personal commitment to equality and diversity
· Good knowledge of SAGE accountancy packages and excel
· Ability to run internet-based banking services
