EDUCATION FACULTY POSITION

The Education Department at Waynesburg University is seeking applicants for a full-time, faculty position beginning August 2022. Completed doctorate preferred or master’s degree in a field of education is required. A minimum of five years public school teaching experience and active teaching certification is required. A successful candidate must have extensive background knowledge in Pennsylvania Department of Education program guidelines specific to PreK-4, Grades 4-8, Grades 7-12, and Special Education PreK-12, as well as teacher certification requirements for the state of Pennsylvania. This position will work directly with University faculty, schools/school districts and other educational/social service agencies to secure field-based and practicum experience for the undergraduate and graduate student teaching placements. This position will also facilitate the completion and processing of required clearances and process applications for teacher certification. The successful candidate will be responsible for twelve credit hours per semester and may supervise student teachers in the field. Background and curricular needs will dictate teaching schedule. In addition, advising at the undergraduate level and participating in service to the University and to the Department is expected. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University’s Mission and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, teaching, relationships, and the mentoring of students. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
