ROLE DESCRIPTION

This position will be joining a small accounting department, working directly with the Controller in identifying and

establishing controls and procedures to manage the financial functions for several Management Companies and their

Funds. We are looking to increase automation and accuracy for our growing business.

As a Fund Accountant you will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Accounting Department with duties related to Management Companies and funds.
• Assisting with creation and management of monthly/quarterly/annual Management Company budgets, tracking actual to plan, and making any adjustments.
• Assisting with finance duties related to data collection from portfolio companies.
• Assisting with the production of Limited Partner (LP) reporting.
• Assisting with tax and audit tasks.
• Assisting with the management of the flow of deal related data and its update into the appropriate reporting and tracking systems.

A successful candidate for this role will be able to:

• Possess strong accounting and fund accounting skills.
• Efficiently and effectively perform the tasks accurately, independently and in timely manner.
• Demonstrate the ability to identify and improve processes and institute/improve control procedures for all assigned tasks.
• Develop an efficient repeatable process for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on portfolio companies.
• Demonstrate the ability to be a team player who is an active listener, respectful communicator and jumps in when needed.
• Show ownership of the role/process and actively communicates updates with the team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants are expected to have the following professional qualifications for this position:

• College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Experience with Private Equity and fund accounting
• 3+ years of successful professional experience in accounting/finance with a company or public accounting firm.
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or previous accounting/bookkeeping experience a plus

Applicants are expected to have the following technical skills for this position:

• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial planning, and performance tracking
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills with ability to develop financial models including utilization of Lookup and pivot tables. Writing Excel macros is a plus.
• Strong organization and planning skills

The successful candidate will receive a competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience, which will include a base salary and bonus potential.
