Responsibilities:

• Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Discussing and explaining all issues and accounting discrepancies and adjustments are made in the accounts when needed.
• Responsible in performing month-end close processing, manual journals and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Undertaking analysis of the operating income and expenditure and providing commentary on key profit and loss and balance sheet accounts.
• Ensuring balance sheet accounts are reconciled and reviewed in a detailed manner. Recommending on the treatment of accruals and provisions.
• Ensures all general ledger postings are accurate and all income and expenses are recorded before preparing and finalizing the company’s tax return.
• Warranting that deferred revenue from support fees and subscriptions are recognized monthly and monitoring whether customers are billed timely for their respective support fees and subscription recurring invoices.
• Establishing processes around financial integrity and compliance such as checking the efficiency of the company’s accounting software especially after every version update
• Examining the accuracy of expense claims of the employees to ensure it adheres to the company’s internal control and policies.
• Overseeing the input, handling of receipts and payments applications and full ownership over all other related AP/AR functions.
• Maintaining the fixed assets register and ensure that the depreciation schedule at the end of the year is accurate.
• Performing bank reconciliation and timely reconciles cash applications and disbursements. Monitoring the cash transactions and advises the Managing Director if fund transfers between accounts are needed to ensure that financial obligations are met in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Filing of BAS, tax and ASIC returns.

Qualifications:

• Minimum degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualification
• 3-5 years’ experience within the Finance function with relevant ANZ experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Australia financial/tax reporting standards and compliance.
• Working knowledge of SAP required.
• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• Able to work well with cross functional team members to achieve common objectives.
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal
• Commercial and business acumen
• Excellent reasoning ability and able to multitask under pressure
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision and thrive in a fast-moving environment with tight schedules and changing scenarios.
